Unitarian Universalists of Petaluma

The purpose of this congregation is to provide a haven where members can share in a spiritually, culturally, and socially diverse local religious community. We envision a congregation that will be welcoming to all, that values the contributions of each member in shared ministry, and that actively promotes and models individual development of an ethical way of living. We are intentionally intergenerational, and covenant to provide religious education and spiritual growth for children and adults.

UUP Members in the Community! Virginia Hotz Steenhoven

KC Greaney wrote to let me know that Virginia was named as Santa Rosa Junior College's Employee of the Month for June. She works there as the Intake/Service Facilitator for the Disability Resources Department on the Petaluma Campus.

There's a great article about her on page 6 of the August issue of college staff newsletter, the Insider, which mentions her membership in UUP.

Congratulations, Virginia!

    Virginia is a well-respected and beloved SRJC employee. I was delighted to read in her bio that she was moved to mention her religious affiliation -- this is not common practice for employee's of the month. I see it as that great UU sense of integrity, of walking the talk (in this case, talking the walk -- I think!)

    SRJC employs over 3,000 folks, so it was a real honor for Virginia to be chosen.
